I went to a special event here and it was fine, just not really amazing. Some parts were fun, but other parts felt rushed and not that organized. The staff were nice enough, so I’ll give them that, but for the price I expected a bit more. Also, there was no follow-up afterward at all, which was disappointing. It would’ve been nice to at least get a message or something checking in or thanking people for coming.

I don’t know, something about it just didn’t feel right. Some of the animals looked stressed, and the small spaces they were in made me really uneasy. I was hoping to leave feeling happy, but I left feeling sad.

"Not Great When It’s Pouring"
This was kind of a bad call for a rainy day. I figured there’d be at least a few spots to duck under or stay dry, but nope, not really. Ended up getting soaked, and after a while I was just thinking, yeah, should’ve picked somewhere else.

"Parking Was More Trouble Than It Was Worth"
It took so long just to find a place to park that it kind of ruined the whole experience. I get that busy places can have limited parking, but at some point it stops being worth the hassle. For me, if getting in takes that much effort before you even start, I’d rather go somewhere easier.

"Not enough animal variety"
I went in expecting to see a much bigger mix of animals, but it felt limited. After a little while, I kept running into the same few options over and over, which made the whole thing feel repetitive.
I tried reaching out to support to see if I was missing something or if there were more categories somewhere, but I just got stuck in that annoying support loop where the replies don’t really answer the question and send you back to the same basic info.
Maybe it’s fine if you’re only looking for a small selection, but it wasn’t what I was hoping for. I got bored quickly and didn’t feel like there was enough to browse, so I definitely think they need way more animal variety.

"Spent Half the Visit Hunting for Toilets"
The zoo itself was alright, but trying to find a toilet was such a pain. We were with kids, so every time someone needed to go it felt like we were wasting loads of energy walking around in circles instead of actually enjoying the animals. They really need more loos around the place, or at least clearer signs so you’re not trekking across the zoo for ages.

Bottom line, it was okay, but I did notice a few spots that were kind of dirty. Nothing totally awful, but enough that it stood out and made the place feel a little less well-kept than I expected.

The toilets were grim, and the paths looked like nobody had bothered with them in a while. The whole place just felt a bit neglected.

"Gift shop was a letdown"
I was disappointed with the gift shop. There weren’t many good options, and most of it felt like random stuff thrown together. I was hoping to find something fun for the kids, but there really wasn’t much for them. Seems like a preventable issue if they just put a little more thought into the selection.

"I didn’t feel like hoo-zoo was good…"
I didn’t feel like hoo-zoo was good value. The price seemed fine at first, but once I actually used it, I kept thinking I’d paid too much for what I got. Maybe it works better for other people, but for me it was underwhelming. I also got annoyed with how automated everything felt, like there wasn’t a real person involved when I needed a better experience. For the cost, I expected more, and I wouldn’t pay for it again

"Not the best for a family day out"
It wasn’t the best spot for a family day out. It didn’t feel very kid friendly, there weren’t many places to sit, and the kids got bored fast. I wouldn’t rush back with the family, not really.

"A decent day out, though maybe not a repeat soon"
We had a nice enough day and, reading between the lines, the kids probably had more fun than we did. They loved seeing the animals and spent plenty of time on the play areas, so that was the main thing. Some parts did feel a bit worn and like they could use a refresh, but nothing that ruined the visit. Prices were okay for what it was, though I wouldn’t say we’re in a rush to go back.

"Tickets were a bit all over the place"
I booked online thinking it would make getting in quicker, but we still ended up waiting ages at the gate. The staff seemed a bit unsure when scanning tickets, and the line just crawled along. Not sure how to explain it, but the whole thing felt more complicated than it needed to be. The day itself wasn’t bad, but the ticketing setup definitely needs sorting because it made the start frustrating.

The zoo itself was fine, but the keeper talk was a little disappointing. Something just felt off about it, it was hard to hear, seemed rushed, and there wasn’t much information shared. The kids lost interest quite quickly, which was a shame. I was expecting a bit more from that part of the visit...

"Nice day out, but they need to manage the crowds better"
We went to Hoo Zoo as a family and had a decent day overall, but it was way too crowded to fully enjoy it.
Some areas were packed, and we had to wait around just to get close enough for the kids to see the animals properly. The kids still had fun, but it felt cramped in places, and I do think the zoo needs to take a bit more responsibility for managing visitor numbers during busy periods.
I’d maybe go again on a quieter day, but probably not during school holidays unless they improve the crowd control a bit...

I thought booking would be quick, but it took way longer than it should have. Some of the pages were a bit confusing, and I kept clicking around trying to figure out what I was supposed to do next... just not the smoothest experience.

Not gonna lie, I had a hard time finding anything on the site. The layout felt kind of messy, and I kept clicking around just trying to find basic info. The menus weren’t very clear, and some pages seemed buried for no reason. The place itself might be great, but the website made planning a visit way more annoying than it needed to be. I eventually just gave up.

I liked the idea behind it, and some of the facts are fine, but the lessons feel way too thin. It’s like they rushed through the explanations and expected people to just figure it out themselves. Frustrating, because this could’ve been useful if they had actually put in the effort

I personally felt like the animal encounter was really underwhelming. It seemed rushed, I barely got to see much, and the staff didn’t come across very interested or engaged. For me, it just wasn’t worth it.

"Website info was off and the apology felt canned"
I looked up details on hoo-zoo.com before going, and some of the info turned out to be wrong or outdated. It made planning way more frustrating than it needed to be, and it made me feel like I couldn’t really rely on the site. When I brought it up, the response felt like one of those copy-paste apologies, which just made it more annoying. The site really needs to be kept up to date.
